Revelation

When reading Revelation I cannot help but be motivated. The end is already accomplished, Jesus is victorious. Righteousness really does matter.

Back Home Safely

I am so grateful I was invited with our Youth Pastor, Shawn Gendall, to travel to Guatemala City. Our youth are an impressive group: self starters, doers, helpful, kind, committed, busy and loving. It was inspiring to see them in action. Equally thrilling was being able to watch Shawn pour himself out each day to tackle whatever came our way. Our youth are so blessed to have Shawn as their pastor. He loves the kids so much and there is nothing he would not do for them. Late night runs for frozen yogurt, market, swim, play, talks and prayer. What a gift to meet the most loving and affectionate Guatemalan kids. Lots of hugs and kisses and "What is your name" or "How arrre youuu?" My pleasure was to be immersed in the Spanish language and be able to converse with the people there. The experience is forever etched in my heart.

Off to Guatemala City

This Saturday a group of students, Shawn Gendall and I will be heading off to Guatemala City. We are partnering with "Hope4Guatemala"  to assist them with 440 elementary kids a day. 220 arrive at a time, there is a morning shift and an afternoon shift. We will be helping feed, work with computers, teach bike riding, art, stock their library, put on a carnival,  but most especially love them. For many the food we serve is their only meal of the day. The area schools are over crowded and under staffed, many students do not continue past 4th grade. "Hope4Guatemala" stresses the importance of education and we hope to impart some fun activities along with a great environment for learning.

Defender of the Faithful

I have that song ringing through my head; "defender of the faithful.." what a comfort. I am so encouraged by this truth. He is my defense I will not be shaken when I stand on His truth. I am claiming Joshua 1:5

"No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you."

I don't know about you but I need that assurance because I am battling everyday against the world.

Amen and Amen

When is Enough, Enough?

I had a great reminder this week in our Sunday sermon. Enough is enough when we look at our lives (circumstances) with GRATITUDE. I do not need more than God has given me. When I decide I'm not satisfied with what I've been given- that leads to disaster. I am encouraged and challanged to trust God to provide enough for this day and to believe His provision is loving and sufficient.
