Volunteering Outside of Calvary
Palisades Outreach Day:
With Palisades Outreach Day, with our heart being to provide tangible needs to organizations in the Palisades. This year, we worked with the YMCA Park called Simon Meadow and the Palisades Rec Center. We look forward to what the future brings in our display Christ in our community.

Operation Christmas Child:
Every year, we partner with Operation Christmas Child to help bring presents to children in need throughout the world. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We look forward to teaming up again this Christmas season with Operation Christmas Child.
Harvest Home:
The goal of Harvest Home is to transform the lives of homeless, pregnant women and their children by identifying and overcoming the root causes of homelessness, and by promoting physical and emotional health, spiritual growth, and financial independence.
We have spent the last three years working with the facility needs of Harvest Home. We have repaired rooms, roofing issue, stairs, repaired ceiling fans and lights and built several fence doors. The women from Calvary have also spent the time ministering to the women of Harvest Home, taking them and their children on outings while the work is going on.

Union Rescue Mission:
Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving men, women and children experiencing homelessness. Established in 1891, URM is one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles.
URM provides a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services to our guests, including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training to needy men, women, children, and families.
We were privileged this last year to send multiple groups to help serve dinner, as well as conducting three outreach events for the families and children who currently reside at URM: Kids Carnival, Movie Night and Splash Zone.

Hands of Mercy:
Hands of Mercy’s mission is to strengthen the Body of Christ by making and influencing disciples while mobilizing families and individuals to love others in tangible ways in Mexico and around the world. We help churches build loft houses in their parking lot and facilitate weekend and short-term, cross-cultural ministry opportunities.
We have partnered with Hands of Mercy the past 5 years and helped build 12 houses for families in need. This last February, we took a team of 30 people, spent 2 nights in Ensenada and completed 3 loft houses.
